     Monkey Magic Crowned BABS champions for 2008!
Monkey MagicTenor: Alan Hughes, 22.
Has been singing barbershop for ten years and currently sings with BABS 2007 Gold Medal Chorus, the Cottontown Chorus from Bolton. Alan works for a recording studios suppliers and fitters; and in his spare time produces barbershop recordings for some of Britain's top acts.

Lead: Zac Booles, 22.
Zac currently directs the Grand Central Chorus, whom he has been singing with for several years. He is an upcoming arranger and coach with skills much sought-after in British barbershop. When not singing, Zac works for a local signwriters producing graphics for a variety of haulage firms.

Bari: Joe Knight, 23.
Joe has been singing barbershop seemingly since birth, having come from a barbershop family - both his parents have won quartet gold medals, and his fiancé sings tenor with the incredibly successful Lace City Singers Chorus from Sweet Adeline's Region 31. Joe is currently training to become a primary school teacher.

Bass: Duncan Blackeby, 23.
Duncan has been singing with Spirit of Harmony BABS 2008 Bronze Medal Chorus for several years now, and is an integral part of their continuing success. Duncan currently works as an IT support technician for a large insurance company. Being a bass, he is also the only singer in the quartet able to grow a beard.

BABS Chorus Champion for 2008

The Great Western Chorus is very unique in it’s style of Harmony Singing, accappella of course, bringing songs to life in their truly energetic style, over 33 years of singing a wide variety of popular songs good old favourites from the past as well as the sensational and spiritual fast moving big stage songs, the 50 man Chorus from all walks of life, under the direction of Linda Corcoran can really turn on the charm when indulging into wonderful love songs, ballads that will tug at your heart strings.

     The Chorus are no strangers to the International stage performing to Royalty with Celebrities for both Radio and Television, and in some of the most prestigious of places, delighting audiences on all stages of the musical spectrum, thrilled to have accumulated top awards in competition over the years including BBC Radio 3 Choir of the year Finalists, and have enjoyed the magic tour of music festivals, always seeking to perfect their unique craft of entertainment.

     The Great Western Chorus has just won their 7th record breaking Gold Championship medal, the road to gold is never easy and they are thrilled to be back at the top. Linda Corcoran their MD has put herself into the record books for the first Lady MD to achieve Gold with a Men’s Chorus, Linda is also sings lead in the current Gold Medal LABBS Quartet Champions.

    
Their future looks bright and being very much in demand will be taking part in music festivals in South Wales and the West, then on to Holland and later to the USA to represent the UK. All of this brings into life their Motto “FUN SINGING WELL” listen to us again on website WWW.SINGBRISTOL.COM
