Alan Goldsmith, Chairman and
World Harmony Council Representative

                   Alan Goldsmith

Alan was elected chairman of BABS for the calendar years 2009 and 2010.  In brief, he’s been singing barbershop for some ten years having first joined the Lincoln club and then, upon retiring from paid work, becoming a dual member at East Midlands.  Singing with two choruses brings twice the enjoyment and twice the satisfaction, but also twice the number of songs to learn!  He has held club positions of chairman, treasurer and public relations officer and has also been able to help the National Barbershop Youth Chorus as it has developed.  Outside barbershop he has been chairman of the British Police Symphony Orchestra - yes there is one, check out their website - which may give a clue as to his previous occupation.
