2011 Quartet Champions

< Alliance

Tenorad: Ian Mulholland
Lead: Adrian Gimpel
Bass: Dan Milgate
Baritone: Richard Reeve

Hailing from Perth, Western Australia, Alliance won its third AAMBS National Quartet Gold Medal (and first Pan Pacific Quartet Championship) in Brisbane in 2011. The boys are proud and honoured to have won amongst such a quality field.

Alliance was formed in 2004 after experienced a cappella vocalists Ian, Adrian, Les (the quartet’s original baritone) and Dan got together over a long weekend in January of that year to try out their combination of voices. In June of 2004, after just a few rehearsal weekends, the quartet won the AAMBS Western Region quartet contest with a record high score.

Richard joined the group in 2007, replacing Les in the baritone slot and Alliance kept the momentum going by recording and releasing their long awaited debut CD ‘Anthem’ in 2008.

Vocal Evolution comes from Perth in Western Australia.

Vocal Evolution was formed in 2003 by a group of men who wanted to take their harmony singing to the next level. True to their name, the chorus has grown musically and artistically to become widely recognised as one of Australia’s best vocal harmony groups.

In 2009, led by Music Director Alex Morris, Vocal Evolution was awarded the gold medal at the AAMBS National Open Chorus Contest in Hobart, Tasmania. With this title came the invitation to represent Australia at International competition and so in July 2011 the boys headed to the USA. Competing against some of the very best choruses in the world Vocal Evolution achieved an “A-level” score of 81, the highest ever by an Australian chorus, and a ranking of #19 in the world.
